Beschrijving

Explosieveilig stekkermateriaal is onmisbaar in omgevingen waar een verhoogd explosierisico bestaat en waar veilige elektrische verbindingen wettelijk verplicht zijn. Standaard stekkers en koppelingen voldoen in dit soort situaties niet: u hebt materiaal nodig dat speciaal is ontworpen en gecertificeerd voor gebruik in explosiegevaarlijke zones. Friand Elektrotechniek levert een breed assortiment explosieveilig stekkermateriaal, geschikt voor uiteenlopende spanningen, stroomsterktes en industriële toepassingen.

Wanneer gebruikt u explosieveilig stekkermateriaal?

Explosieveilig stekkermateriaal wordt ingezet wanneer de omgeving bijzondere veiligheidseisen stelt aan elektrische aansluitingen. Denk aan installaties waarbij brandbare gassen, dampen of stof aanwezig kunnen zijn. U kiest voor dit type materiaal wanneer:

  • gewerkt wordt in explosiegevaarlijke zones (ATEX-zones);
  • elektrische aansluitingen veilig gekoppeld en ontkoppeld moeten kunnen worden, ook terwijl de installatie in bedrijf is;
  • de installatie moet voldoen aan geldende explosieveilige normen en certificeringen;
  • betrouwbaarheid en continuïteit van de stroomvoorziening van kritisch belang zijn.

Het materiaal is geschikt voor zowel vaste als tijdelijke installaties in industriële en technische omgevingen.

Beschikbare uitvoeringen

Binnen het assortiment zijn verschillende uitvoeringen van explosieveilig stekkermateriaal beschikbaar. Afhankelijk van uw toepassing kunt u kiezen uit:

  • stekkers;
  • koppelingen;
  • inbouwdelen (flensuitvoering);
  • wandcontactdozen;
  • transformatorstekkers;
  • stekkers met geïntegreerde zekering.

Deze uitvoeringen zijn verkrijgbaar in diverse spanningen en polenaantallen: van zeer lage spanning (24 V en 42 V) tot 230 V en krachtstroom tot 690 V, in stroomsterktes van 10 A tot 125 A. Het assortiment is gecertificeerd voor zone 1 en 2 (gas) en zone 21 en 22 (stof). De juiste keuze is afhankelijk van de installatie, de belasting en de zone-indeling van de omgeving, die bepaalt welke ATEX-categorie het materiaal minimaal moet hebben. Wat is het verschil tussen explosieveilig stekkermateriaal en standaard industrieel stekkermateriaal?

Explosieveilig stekkermateriaal is gecertificeerd voor gebruik in ATEX-zones waar brandbare gassen, dampen of stof aanwezig kunnen zijn. Standaard industrieel stekkermateriaal biedt deze bescherming niet en is in zulke omgevingen wettelijk niet toegestaan. Het explosieveilige materiaal is voorzien van een gecertificeerde behuizing en constructieve maatregelen die voorkomen dat vonken of hete oppervlakken de omringende atmosfeer kunnen ontsteken.

Aan welke normen moet explosieveilig stekkermateriaal voldoen?

In Europa moet explosieveilig stekkermateriaal voldoen aan de ATEX-productrichtlijn 2014/34/EU. Dat wordt aangetoond via de geharmoniseerde normen uit de EN IEC 60079-reeks. Op de markering leest u af voor welke zones het product geschikt is, via de apparaatgroep en de categorie, en voor welke stoffen, via de explosiegroep en de temperatuurklasse. Voor welke zones is dit stekkermateriaal geschikt?

Het assortiment is gecertificeerd voor zone 1 en zone 2, waar brandbare gassen of dampen kunnen voorkomen, en voor zone 21 en zone 22, waar brandbaar stof aanwezig kan zijn.
